Genoa Candy Dance History
The story of The Genoa Candy dance began in 1919; it originally started as a fundraiser by the women in town to raise money for street lights. The fundraiser continued every year to pay for the electricity to run them. In the 1970’s arts and crafts became part of the event. It remains Genoa’s biggest annual two day event and it is a big part of town’s annual budget.
