If you have tried to file for unemployment, you may have run into several issues. I have someone that has shared her experiences and I wanted to pass off her tips for filing a claim successfully.
#1 is use a computer, not your phone.
#2 Even if you don’t think you might be eligible, apply anyway.
#3 When your status changes from “pending” to “open,” look at the bottom left corner for the “file your weekly claim,” which can be done every week.
#4 The next page will tell you to submit your work search history, which you can skip. That requirement has been waived.
#5. There will be more questions about school, searching for work, if you’ve turned down jobs, etc., mark “yes.” It should then say your claim has been submitted.

DETR has a new call center for general questions: 800-603-9671. They are open M-F 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. They have partnered with a global customer service provider to manage the inquiries.
Specific claims scenarios cannot be answered on this hotline; those questions should be directed to the DETR office.
DETR has a new method for online filing for Nevadans to initiate or renew claims. It is organized by last name. Last names A-K are asked to file on Sundays. Last names L-R are asked to file on Mondays and Last names S-Z are asked to file on Tuesday. Wednesday through Saturday are open to initiate or renew claims online.
