THINKING OF BUYING A BRAND NEW HOME? WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW.

Have you been thinking about buying a new house?  If you’ve ever walked into a model home, we all know it is so inviting.  They are so clean, nicely upgraded and tastefully decorated (most of the time).  You’re greeted and asked to sign in.  The onsite agent is great about answering your questions.

Before you go shopping for new homes, you should hire a buyer’s agent.  The sales agent in the models works for the builder; they do not represent you!  Your buyer’s agent should know to ask about things like lot premiums, build times, upgrade deposits, etc.  Your agent will help you negotiate upgrades and concessions.  A good buyer’s agent will be there with you to attend walkthroughs and important meetings.  You won’t be alone to click your initials and signatures on tens to hundreds of pages on a contract that you haven’t had the chance to read before they are put in Docusign and presented on a screen in front of you.

Typically, the new home builder will offer a commission or a referral fee to your agent.  Buyer representation rarely costs you anything.  To find out more on upcoming developments or new construction in the Reno/Sparks area, reach out to us!  When you decide you want to go look at some models, call us; your agent must accompany you on your first visit.
